Read All About It

I LOVE children’s books. I love to look through them. I love to read them. I love to see shelves covered in them. I (unofficially) collect them. I really LOVE children’s books. They are best when they are “well loved” – you know the kind – tattered a bit, taped back together who knows how many times, read over and over so much you can quote them… well maybe that’s just me. Did I mention how much I LOVE children’s books?!?

In this week’s post, I want to highlight a few children’s books about a topic near and dear to my heart – hearing differences!

Let’s Hear It For Almigal

Let's Hear It For Amigal

This is a book about a spunky girl who has been using hearing aids since she was born and now she wants to hear her friends “tiny voices”. Follow her on her journey as she gets a cochlear implant. Check out more about this book by clicking here.

Sophie’s Tales

Sophie's Tales

This is a fun book series about a little puppy that has hearing loss and uses a cochlear implant. For more information, check out their website by clicking here.

El Deafo

El Deafo

This is a funny, thoughtful graphic novel about a character who realizes her hearing difference might actually be a super power. It’s a great read for older elementary, middle school, and high school… (and adults like me who LOVE children’s books). Check out the Good Reads review by clicking here.
